In the age before the rise of humanity, demons controlled this plane. When humanity began to become more numerous, the demons were pushed back, some crossing into other dimensions, others seeking to hide in this world. To survive, the demons bred with humanity, causing half breeds, and diluting the races. With hundreds of different races, each has become a unique entity. There are those that wish to live in peace, and others still that seek power and control. There are even some who just want wealth. Each race is given special abilities that are inherent to their kind. In Devilshire, there are two races of demon which play major roles in the supernatural community: Kaliff and Lister.

The demonic community of Devilshire is a confusing one at best. With such a small town mentality, there aren't many of any one race to offer a position of power.

Contents

Brachen Demons

The Brachen are a race of mildly strong demons, capable of shifting from human to demonic form in a flash, but only possessing powers in their demon shapes. In their human bodies they are just as weak and frail as the face they wear. They are immune to broken necks in their demon forms as well, but are not resistant to any other types of death.

Byblos Demons

Known as the Librarians, Byblos demons are usually non-confrontational. Seekers of knowledge, they are mostly emotionless. Able to store all they read and know in their brains, they are living fonts of knowledge. While not particularly skilled martially, they can be tough to kill.

Gri'ah Demons

Gri'ah were once assassins and bodyguards to a powerful Demon Lord for millennia. They betrayed their master, and paid the ultimate price. As a servitor race, they were nearly exterminated and and left with no one to serve. They survive almost always in the service of demon cults, though a few achieved independence by pledging to serve only themselves.

Appearance
Dark blue skin, glowing red eyes, humanoid. Can maintain a human appearance.

Qualities
+3 to Strength and Constitution (+6)
+2 to Dexterity (+2)
Regeneration (1xCON per minute) (+3)
Increased Life Points (+3)
Supernatural Form: Dual Shape (+2)

Kaliff Demons

These demons are the bruisers, the hardcore weapons available to those who need soldiers. Capable of doing large amounts of damage, these monsters are dedicated to the tasks assigned to them. They make excellent warriors, and perfect soldiers for the mafia or underlings. As a port town, Devilshire sees some shipping. Kaliff demons often hire onto merchant vessels or work the docks as cargo haulers, usually at night and out of sight of the humans. Other Kaliff serve as muscle for hire for the Moore Family or occasionally, the Devlin Family.

Appearance
Humanoids with red, leathery skin. Dual sets of bone spikes along the head and jaw.

Qualities
+3 to Strength (+3)
+2 to Dexterity and Constitution (+4)
Natural Armor 2 (+2)

Lister Demons

A small community of Lister demons settled in Devilshire during the 1970s. They have kept mostly to themselves, living on the fringe of human society but enjoying the peace they've found here. Lister demons are a peace-loving species of half-breeds, part-demon/part-human, who want to live a life free from the persecution and hatred. They have many ancient prophecies in their culture's religion and mythology. While many are cryptic, the prophecy stating that the Promised One will save them from the end of the world is not.

Appearance
They have bulbous eyes, sharp cheekbones, and gray skin.

Qualities

+3 to Willpower (+3)

Increased Life Points (+4)

Miquot Demons

The Miquot Clan are a race of warrior/hunter demons. They are reptilian in nature. Miquot are born from an egg, have a short childhood, and then are sent into the world to bring honor to the clan through a right of passage that usually involves battle or hunting down great game.

Appearance
Miquot are yellow skinned and hairless with stegosaurus-like ridges on the top of the skull in the shape of a mohawk.

Qualities
+3 to Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution (+9)

Tarrack Demons

A race whose presence on Earth is almost exclusively in the form of half-breeds. True Tarrack can and do breed with human women, usually for reasons of their own. Not being nurturing parents and often having their own plans, most True Tarrack are gone long before their half-human children are born. The young come into their own in the mid-teens and few live much longer, usually victims of the violence they cause or seek.

Appearance
They look perfectly human.

Qualities
+3 to Strength (+3)
+3 to Constitution (+3)
Increased Life Points (+2)
Regeneration (1xCON per minute) (+3)

Drawbacks

When a confrontation occurs, a Tarrack has to make a Willpower(doubled) - 2 roll to walk away. (-2)

Package Points: 7

Varanus Demons

Half-demons who usually find themselves on the wrong side of the law. Infiltration with the normal world is easy for them, since they look human and the fact that they carry natural weapons makes them ideal assassins.

Appearance
They appear relatively normal (i.e. human) though their eyes and skin always have a jaundiced look.  When they shift to full demon form, their skin becomes cracked and patched like some kind of lizard and their eyes turn yellow.  Most disturbing of all, they have the ability to shoot poisoned spines from their wrists.

Qualities

Natural Armor (+3)
Natural Weapon 1: Shooting Spines from wrists (2xStr) (+3)
Poison Spines: -1 to Dexterity, Constitution, or Strength with each spine hit.  Must rotate through all 3 before hitting something twice (i.e. -1 to Dex, then -1 to Str, then -1 to Con before you can do a -1 to Dex again) (+5)

Drawbacks
Supernatural Form: Split Shape (-1)
Vulnerability: Takes 4x usual fire damage (-2)

Package cost: 10
