History
Yvonne Raven Monroe was born in Texas, raised in Texas and got her little behind beat until she learned how to run…in Texas. The oldest daughter of her father but the third child of her mother (that she knows of), she grew up on a farm. She was about the girliest little farmgirl there was and she studied ballet from the age of 3, having a chance to audition for juliard when she was of the appropriate age. Dancing was her life, she loved dance and that’s what she planned on pursuing before settling down to get married and have kids.
Fate had other plans for her, and yes I’m skipping ahead because I’m not fixing to put her entire background on this wiki…don’t ask me to. I’m lazy as hell. She was almost killed by something supernatural prior to being called. After being called, training well, being relocated more than once to back up other groups or pair of slayers…she was almost killed again and put in a coma by the supernatural. And at the start of 2007, she volunteered for a healing ritual for a childhood friend and…yes, you guessed it, was almost killed for the third time by the supernatural. The supernatural doesn't like her and she doesn't like the supernatural either.
Personality
If she was white, she'd be blond. She doesn't like getting dirty and she squees and ees over cute things. Yvonne was a soft hearted Slayer, known for her reluctance to throw herself into a fight but her graceful efficiency when she does choose to make with the violence. That's carried over into her deactivation. She also can be clumsily ditsy, but its just part of her overall personality. She's not the brightest bulb of the bunch, but she's creative and has very good memory due to years of memorizing dance routines. She has a warm and giving heart and is very maternal. She also...is a black woman from the south, so she can get riled up and has no problem telling it like it is.
It is important to note that, she suffers from a form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. She has suffered some psychological damage/trauma with everything that has happened to her in her life. She's currently suffering from not wanting to deal with the supernatural, doubting her ability to hold her own anymore and not wanting to deal with the stress and pain that often comes from that. She also has a strong phobia of small dark spaces and a mild fear of magic. This makes her an extremely emotional person.

Dance Fu
What can one say about Vonne's dancing, really? She's well trained in Ballet, has years of experience in Jazz and Hip-Hop as well. She's auditioned and been part of several small dance teams and summer troupes. She attended a high-school for the performing arts. She had an audition for Julliard lined up as well before she was attacked by a bringer some time before being called by Willow's slayer activation spell. Dancing in her life and her passion, she feels like it is the only thing in life she is good at and being academically challenged during her formal education years, it was the only thing that made her feel smart. She teaches dance classes and if asked her profession she will say she is a Dancer before she'll admit to have her Private Investigator's license.
Ex-Slay Fu
The Council is more than aware of Yvonne's situation, and she has connections with other people in the supernatural/science circles while not as deep as others, she's a charming and sweet girl so she's left positive impressions on everybody she hasn't beaten the hell out of. Her connections have helped in so much as during her period in the hospital, a close friend of hers...what they call a super-scientist consulting with her watcher at that time started a series of experiments on her to see if she could be reactivated somehow, if not mystically then scientifically. Vonne isn't totally aware of everything that was done, as far as she knows she's not a Slayer anymore. She's not as fast, or strong as she once was, but she's not completely helpless in a fight. The downside is the psychological damage mentioned previously was only intensified some, seeing as part of the experimentation was attempted to trigger different memories. It was long and detailed and complicated. She's still weak from the third near death experience that lifted some weight off of her shoulders, so her constitution needs to be built back up, but the few little left over perks from having a pre-ordained calling, aka regeneration and a certain level of natural toughness should do her just fine.
Basically, Vonne regained her training and experience, even some of her quick healing and resilience, but she was reverted to her status /before/ she was called as a slayer. This is a new development for her, she spent quite some time in a hospital...again, healing from blood loss. She opted /not/ to return to New Orleans and since she's no longer a slayer, seeing as her powers are trapped in the body of a crazy ass magic slinging Texan who has been actively pursuing her, in an attempt to finish the job. She's gotten as far as possible from the south. She's a PI, but she's pursuing getting the chance to teach dance or coach cheerleading. She has a chance now to do some of the things she's always wanted to do...without the stress of her Slaying. Or...so she thinks.
Martial Arts
If you ask Yvonne, she will say she's not a fighter and to a certain extent this is true. She doesn't go around picking fights and she is often either underestimated by an opponent...or if her muscular arms are exposed overestimated. She has been known to talk vampires out of attacking her and to choose to scream and run rather than stand and fight (unless she has to, she's standing up for something she believes in, or there are people around who could get hurt). This was a hellishly hard habit to break her of when she was being trained and despite all this she is an extremely well trained martial artist. Attention to detail honed from years of dance as well as the natural instinct of those chosen have made her a formidable opponent against the creatures of the night and other such bugaboos.
Okinawan and Japanese martial arts color her self-defense repertoire but her training was primarily in the Japanese Martial Arts (Karate). Fung was mainly an Asian martial arts master and his Watcherly training comprised of training his girls to be proficient fighters. With Vonne he took on more fluid styles. Aikido colors most of her body throws and joint-locking, used for close in fighting. Jujutsu influences some of her more aggressive moves. Bojutsu, bo-staff weapon technique is another thing she's been trained in. Kobudo isn't Japanese, it's an Okinawan martial arts system that influences a majority of her dance influenced self-defence, utilizing Sai and other types of Asian weapons. She's faster than she is strong, and moves quickly and gracefully, aiming for the most effective strikes to take a target out as quickly as possible, not prolonging confrontation. She does a bit of Tai Chi as well. She's well trained, she just hates to fight.
Friends & Family
Mother Dearest also known as That Ho - As sweet and kind as Yvonne can be, she really hates her mother, blaming her for the fact their family got split up and also blaming her for why her baby sister is also such a ho. Verne Timothy Johnson is her Older brother by 12 years by a different father. Same Woman.
Yvonne is a Daddy's girl, there is no doubt about it. Even though he left most of her raising to his sister and said sister's partner, when he was around? He spoiled her rotten. She lives her life trying not to do anything that would shame her daddy but seeing as she's not the one that had a baby before graduating highschool? She really doesn't feel like she has anything to worry about.
Baby sister who has a 3 year old son she keeps trying to find a way to hoist over on Vonne. She's pretty and slender where Vonne is stocky and muscular. She's smart where Vonne's some what slow. Pre-Law student with hopes of becoming a Lawyer, Vonne loves her but they have very little in common seeing as Angie was raised by her mother while Vonne was raised by her lesbian aunts.
Older sister by another father. She loves Missy and Missy loves her and while they didn't grow up together, they did spend quite a few summers and such together. She's the only person in her family that Vonne has confided in on matters of Demon Hunting and being chosen. She does not, however, know her sister actually sorta died and this new version is a robot. Missy got the vocal abiity of the pair and Vonne got the moves, fierce, fabulous and flexible, they are Divas of the graveyard.
Aunt Mirtle was butcher and wore the pants of the family when Vonne was younger. Now the woman has mellowed out some, but she had a hand in raising Yvonne. She also tore Vonne's little backside up on more than one occasion. Gotta love Southern Mothers. She never had any children of her own, but she does hope to adopt soon. She's Derrick's younger sister.
Aunt Miki is...a sweet and somewhat pretty woman who hooked up with Aunt Mirtle and helped raise Yvonne. She was an awesome cook and helped teach Yvonne how to be somewhat of a 'lady'. That is how to do her hair, put on make-up, and all those things. She also was the one to go to for hugs and kisses after Aunt Mirtle played the 'tear that ass up' game after Vonne did something she wasn't supposed to. What's family for after all?

- Christina Milian, Rhianna, and even Amerie had been considered as potential actresses for Yvonne; however Brooke's build, Texas roots, and personality won casting directors over and she's stepped into the shoes of Yvonne Monroe ever since.
- With the dancing, Brooke Valentine had done quite a bit in her Music career so it was just a matter of using a Ballet instructor to add a grace like quality to her hip hop moves and train her in the art that her characters life was practically dedicated to.
- Yvonne's trademark weapon was originally to be a sword, but seeing as everybody and their mama seemed to be having this as their main weapon, she was given the choice of something original and she chose Sai because of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle reference and the fact that Elektra had them.
