Wentworth Moore was a leftover from the time Theodore Moore was the Patriarch of the Moore Family. Theo's old right hand man, he was deeply entrenched in the family business and just full of contacts and information. He left town after Theo's funeral to work with another branch of the family, but in February 2007 he came back. The hit man's return to Devilshire was not met with much pleasure.
As of July 2008, Wentworth has declared his independence from the Moore family at large and severed his obligation to them. He's still useful as an ally, so he gets to live. For now. The hit man's departure from the family was not met with much pleasure.
Wentworth owns and occasionally works at the Lancaster Pool Hall, even though he can't play pool all that well. He also owns and operates Hargrave & Hynes Construction. Hey, stuff gets broken in Devilshire all the time.

History
Cousin to Theo, Stephen, and Jack Moore, Wentworth grew up with them. He was firmly in Theo's camp, helping Theo torment his younger brother. While he was rather clumsy as a kid, Worth was strong, and he took to bullying naturally. When it became clear that Stephen's sensitivity wasn't going to lend itself to him being Theo's right hand man, Wentworth was the next best option.
While the other boys his age got gawky and awkward when they hit puberty, Wentworth finally came into his own. The kid known for being clumsy started to move with preternatural grace almost overnight. He joined various high school teams. Wentworth became admired and even well-liked to a certain degree. His father Eric hardly ever missed a game; his son was his pride and joy.
When his father discovered his wife Ellen (nee Hargrave) had cuckolded him with a demon, he reacted with vicious hatred, much of it directed at the boy who'd been his pride and joy. Even if his mother had been aloof, his father's loathing was a wound Wentworth wasn't prepared to cope with. Enlisting in the military was a way to not need to think, to be unfeeling, to do what felt most right in the world, a legacy of his demon blood: to be a killer. He submerged himself in his job, became a non-person, became a model soldier. When Theo asked him to come home again, Wentworth came. In Wentworth's opinion, Theo was the only Moore who gave a damn about him, and he gave his cousin his utmost loyalty, killed happily for the family. Theo's death hurt him more than he cared to admit, and so he left town when Stephen assumed leadership of the Devilshire Moores, only returning to make sure Stephen 'didn't fuck up Theo's work'. He wound up sticking around for love of Stephen's son George and attachments to the other Moores.
As a half-Quick demon, Wentworth was subject to the whims of his contract holder, which was his father, Quartus. Quartus used Wentworth as a pawn in a plan over seventy years in the making to become a Hellgod and assume ownership of all Quick contracts. Having spent thirty years unaware of the hold his biological father had over him, Wentworth experienced what it was like to be a slave; the lack of control infuriated him. Doing anyone's bidding - the military's, the Moores', his father's - became something he loathed above all other things. Freeing himself and the other Quick demons from his father's plans only solidified his desire to be independent and free of anyone's influence. The Moores didn't seem to like it when he cut his obligation to them, but he's allowed to be alive... for now.
He seems to be making good progress at making his own family, what with marrying Marley Moore and having a daughter, Sarah.
Personality
Wentworth is a jackass.
If there is a comment to be made, Wentworth will probably make it. If there is someone to laugh at, Wentworth will probably laugh. Or at least snort. Or smirk. Wentworth is one of nature's smirkers and scowlers. He is not a friendly man and seems to actively dislike most people.
He also hates letting people get close to him, having gone so far as to push people who cared about him away. Letting people get close gives them a sort of power over you, and Wentworth dislikes giving anyone power over him. While still a loner, he's starting to accept the idea of forming deeper relationships, but he's not exactly running around being buddies.
Wentworth remains paranoid; he knows how assassins think and he is dedicated to not being an easy target. Having been too many people's bitch, Wentworth values his freedom and independence. He finds the notion that he might not be all bad strange and extremely annoying, especially when people use the word 'hero'.
Wentworth also enjoys driving and working on his cars, classic rock and blues, playing pool, and other assorted stereotypical manly man things. He is both an a-hole and a d-bag.
He is also a very proud daddy who loves his baby girl very much.
Powers and Abilities
As a half-demon, Worth enjoys supernatural agility, a hardy constitution, and increased strength.
As an ex-Marine, Wentworth has been extensively trained in hand to hand combat and marksmanship. He also excels at criminal activities such as picking locks, picking pockets, skulking around in the dark, and knowing what's what in the criminal underworld. He cultivates his mundane criminal contacts.
Oddly enough, Wentworth has taught himself how to run businesses. The Lancaster loses money. H&H Construction earns money. Everything balances out.
Wentworth has never shown an aptitude for magic, though he can hold a candle and chant in a ritual as well as anyone else.

Quick Demons
Human-looking for the most part, Quick demons possess supernatural speed as well as strength and toughness. Their tendency toward emotional distance and their physical abilities make them excellent assassins. Full-blooded Quick demons can shift in and out of a shadow realm undetectably. They shy away from symbols of faith (Star of David, crosses, etc.) and contact with said symbols causes them damage. Full-blooded Quick demons cannot set foot on holy ground, but half-bloods have no such problem other than a headache. One metabolic oddity of the Quicken is that the spice cinnamon works as a narcotic and some Quick are addicts. Naturally, they try to keep this a secret.
Quick demons also have a shadow form that provides them with claws and the ability the ability to shift in and out of shadow while leaving them more vulnerable to light. They also regenerate; full bloods are a lot better at this than halfies, who come into their own a lot more slowly. Then again, the half-breeds live a lot longer. Or at least they did before the Quick were freed. Quick demons grow more powerful as they age; they are at their best on the day they die.
As a general rule, knowledge of the Quicken is fairly obscure. Even full-blooded ones present as human, save for the occasional flashing of silver in their eyes. A slave race for millennia only recently freed from servitude, Quick have a lot of pent-up aggression and bitterness they're only just now getting to act on.
Due to a series of events put in motion by his father Quartus and the foiling thereof, Wentworth is kind of like the unintentional Abe Lincoln of Quick demons and subject to the hatred of anyone who used to hold their contracts.
People
- Marley Moore (Previously 'Barbie'): Marley. The wife. Demon hunter to Went's demon, they make no sense together and yet perfect sense in some odd way. They 'get' each other, which says a lot of sad things about both of them. Two killers, they somehow made each other more human; human enough to fall in love, human enough to want to start a family. Marley is tough, doesn't take any of his shit, is kind of a bitch, and argues with him constantly. Constantly. He wouldn't have it any other way. The notion that there was a woman out there who could kill just as well as he could and challenged him was just too awesome not to marry. And have a kid with. Despite-slash-because-of constant bickering, life is just way more fun and interesting with her around. Even if she tried to kill him a couple of times before they got together. Once was even accidental!
- Judith Devlin (Princess): She's interesting to talk to even though she's a prissy ice queen. One of the people who never seemed to buy Went as thick, she also enjoys wrestling. Say what?
- Springfield America: Springfield helped Went and Marley back in April 2008 and now he's wandered to Devilshire. Wentworth likes the guy for some reason or another, so he gave him a job and tries to keep Marley from killing him or breaking any bones.
- Tim: Marley's ex. Tim needs to go away or die or something, or at least spend more time being funnier and less being a fucking douche. Being a douche is okay. Being a douche to Marley is okay. Being a douche in the particular way Tim is a douche to Marley is a fucking headache.
- Sarah Moore: Wentworth and Marley's small, wiggly, defenceless daughter born on July 4th, 2009. Poor girl.
The Other Family
- Winthrop Hynes: Went's half-brother on his father's side, pool shark, baseball player, and guy Wentworth can believe he's related to. Went can talk to him because he goes away after. He's still waiting for the back stab, sadly.
- Quartus: Went's real father is one scary mofo. Dad is one of the oldest Quicken in a long time, and he's done some very unusual things... like sire three children as part of a plan to assume godhood and the contracts of all the Quick in creation. It didn't work out. Not entirely, anyway, but Wentworth is afraid of him. A lot. He scares the shit out of Went and they didn't part on the best of terms.
- Whitney: Went's half-sister; she's a big butchy dyke who got the short end of the stick of the three siblings as to her upbringing. Went got the good end of the stick. Supposedly; they're all pretty messed up.
- Ellen Hargrave-Bhandari: Wentworth's mother. She hated his jerk of a father and was propositioned by Quartus. She accepted just to get Eric to leave her alone. A cold bitch to Went when he was a kid, she's since come around and become more of an actual mother.
Trivia
If Saint and Marley took Wentworth to Candy Mountain, it would look a lot like this.
Nobody has proof, but this may or may not have happened.
