Background
They say you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family. That much is very true for Ashley "Rabbit" Evans. The boy started out life with a stigmata of having a name that is more often then not given to female rather then a male. And then you add onto it that your father died before you are born and you are living in a glorified trailer park. You don't have a lot of money but your mother is too proud to ask her family for help. With handme downs and thrift store finds being a majority of your clothes, you are not really the most popular kid in school. Often teased for wearing the same t-shirt. And to have your jeans hanging off your body because they are too big and you're already small in stature. Rabbit was often picked on by his peers. But the only salvation for the youth would come during the summers. Rabbit would go visit his father's mother in Devilshire every summer and would remain with her until just before school started.
When Rabbit was 5, he met a young girl on the playground. And as children do they became best friends as soon as they hit it off. He shared his toy with her and she let him have some of her Fruit Loops. They would spend every afternoon playing with eachother. That is until summer ended. Lucy's parents and Rabbits grandmother would have to pry the children away from one another. They would both cry and scream for one another. It was a scene that would tear at ones heartstrings to see the two so upset about the friend leaving. But the two of them had a bond that could not be broken by 10 months away from another. As they grew older they still meet with eachother every summer. And as they grew up they developed their own secret language that only they knew. Their was something that drew the two of them together.
Each of them were 'different' from birth, Lucy being born with gifts and Rabbit being born with his own. Rabbits was innately tied to magic and had an uncanny ability to manipulate it. He was always smaller then boys his age and there was just something different about him. Something that always made him feel like an outsider. As he started getting to his pre-teens he knew that something was really different. A fascination with males. Perhaps it was due to the lack of male influence in his life. Whatever it was, he never really told anyone about his interest in boys. Mostly because he had enough issues being teased as it is.
There was no one to talk to about this, he was even afraid to tell his Best Friend Lucy. And then puberty started to take control of him and he was becoming tempermental with all those raging hormones. It is also right around the time that the tiny spark of magic inside of him started to grow. A spark of power that made him truly different from the kids at school. So when you put that ontop of that the awkwardness of discovering it was not normal to be enticed by his male classmates in the locker room after gym. He really had a shit load of problems in life. That wasn't even the begining of his troubles. His mother who was also a innately powered witch had come across a man who was completely wrong for her. He was abusive and cruel and ontop of that he also was a magic pusher. Very often Rabbit would come home and find his mother strung out from a magic high. Rabbit was around 15 years old when he stopped going to visit his grandmother during the summers. He had started to become the parent for his mother had pretty much lost all responsibility she had. It was a very bad place for Rabbit to be. He would take care of his mother and then he would run off so he would not be around her boyfriend Gage. He had become very introverted. His focus had become on his own budding powers. The only benefit of Gage and his Mother being strung out on magic high is that when they were completely passed out he had access to Gage's occult library. He would slip a book out of their collection and he would run off into the woods behind the trailer park and practice magic. That is when Rabbit met Adam.
Adam was a sweet guy, a year older then Rabbit and he had the gift of The Sight and he was a witch who had been trained from as soon as he could read. Adam and Rabbit became almost as good friends as Rabbit and Lucy. But then it went to the next level and they shared their first kiss during a ritual that required them both to be naked in the moonlight. And it snowballed from there. Rabbit was happy despite his crappy home life. When he was with Adam, nothing else mattered. It was like when he was with Lucy. The relationship was so perfect. Adam was the one who was able to bring things out of Rabbit that he kept hidden. Rabbits inner desire to sing. Something that he only did with Adam and that is all.
But perfect things can not last, as Rabbit and Adam's powers were growing together. They also started to gather the attention of Gage. Who was starting to grow tired of feed off Rabbits mother. Gage had offered Rabbit and Adam power... they resisted. A fight ensued between the three of them... Gage had experience over them. But Rabbit and Adam still had him beat powerwise. It was a challenge to fight him, he had done some serious damage to one another. Gage had Adam held up against the wall and Rabbit was running becoming worn out. Then he saw his chance, while Adam was trying to push Gage back with his magical telekinesis. Rabbit ran up behind him and he stabbed Adam's athame into the back of the man. He was dying, but he was not going down without a fight. He flung everything he had at Adam and he took him with him.
It was over... Gage was dead and so was the love of his life. Rabbit had never felt pain like this before in his life. His heart was torn out of his body and he could not grieve. He had to take care of his mother. But luckily for him, he would not have that weight on his shoulders for long. His mother's sister had been contacted in England. She was part of a Coven of Witches there and they would be able to help her with her magic addiction. Rabbit was given a choice, go to England with his mother or he could go live with his Grandmother. It was not an easy choice as he was spiraling down into a bit of depression. His only console was Lucy, and so he decided to go live with his Grandmother. He packed up the combined books from Gage and his mother, what clothes he had and he left the trailer behind. Now Rabbit is making his way to Devilshire and he will be able to attend school with his best friend. That when combined with good medication have been able to help him keep his depression in check. He has been focusing on Lucy and his desire to learn all about the occult world that he is part of.
Personality
Rabbit is an interesting character. He has been known for bouts of depression except when he is around his best friend Lucy. He is being medicated for it. He is afraid of being rejected and is loyal to a fault. Rabbit also has an obsession with learning about the occult in all forms. He's sensitive about his height and is afraid of singing in public despite being a talented singer. Recently with encouragement from his lovers he has been able to sing Karaoke. He doesn't really consider that singing. It's definitely a 'Coyote Ugly' complex. (Don't get the reference see the movie.)
Rabbit is a fire aspect. He is aligned with the South. Fire represents Willpower, Vitality, Passion, Consummation. Pretty much describes Rabbit to a 'T'. He also goes out to do patrolling quite frequently. But His type of patrolling is not the same as most. Rabbit believes that his place is life is not to star in the Hero role. His job is as as self proclaimed, 'Jock Strap' or Hero Support. He isn't going out to hunt for the baddies but to help the wanna-be demon hunters who seem to always run into trouble. He doesn't like to see people get hurt. He tries to play up the 'Neutral' card but usually ends up towards the good side. There is a dark side of Rabbit that has not yet reared it's head.

Rabbit is born with a natural affinity to the magical world. He is able to manipulate magic and is a practicing witch. Magic runs in his family as both his mother and father's side have natural witches. He is a very good singer but does not like singing in front of people. Rabbit can also read and speak Latin fluently.

Adam Camden - This is the 'bad boy' distraction that Rabbit really should be avoiding in a time like this. But for some reason he is drawn to that 'evil' side. Maybe he can use Adam before Adam can use him. Rabbit is one of the few people who doesn't hate Adam... for now.
Amria DeSoto - She is a young witch. She is a skateboarder. Rabbit likes her. She has spunk and lots of potential. He wants to help her grow as a witch. She is also a gypsy which is cool. When they met in the park he thought the skateboarding was Josh. He got disappointed when he saw it wasn't him. Reminds him how much he misses Josh. He has taken a position of protector and mentor to her. She is like a little sister to him.
Andrew Matthews - A new guy in town. Rabbit doesn't exactly trust him right now. But that's because he thinks that Drew may want to summon a demon. Rabbit is hesitant to give him the books that Drew wants.
Ciaran O'Toole - Ciaran is really busy with his own stuff. Rabbit misses time with him. Rabbit is pretty sure they are no longer dating. They may not even be friends anymore.
Desmond Carr - Desmond is nice. He is attractive but he is attached to Scout. Although there was that comment about a kiss that threw Rabbit off. He would never do anything to hurt Scout, so he wouldn't even consider Desmond though. Plus he is all about protecting Amria, which is thumbs up from Rabbit.
Ethan Pride - Another new Devilshire Hottie. Rabbit flirted with him and got him to blush... a lot. He is holding the V card close to him but Rabbit wants to corrupt him. He also has magic with some kind of flute which throws Rabbit off a great deal. He may move in to the Evans Manor.
Evan Thomasson - He's attractive, he's got magic and he's a fae or at least fae-blood. Rabbit flirted with him. He seemed to be awed and impressed by Rabbit's skills. Rabbit just wants to get him out of his pants. Boy has needs.
Franny Moore - There are actually Moores that Rabbit likes. They aren't all complete assholes? Who knew. Franny is a nice girl, he worked with her during the Shadow Demon/Sleeping Beauty thing. She is a firestarter. Her sister is Gia.
Gia Moore - Sister to Franny, Another Moore that Rabbit can actually get along with. Previously thought few and far between.
Geoffrey Ackles - Rabbit met him on the Beach. He is a Nag'lak demon. Rabbit snapped a few pictures of him in demon form for Encyclopedia Demonica. The book Rabbit has been writing for years about the Occult. He seemed rather timid and cowardly once he saw Rabbit had magic. Rabbit felt bad for him and thought he was kind of cute at the same time.
Leona Rushton - Rabbit thinks of her as a little sister. He is concerned with her Telekinesis and the fact it is causing her to bleed. He is researching a way to fix her telekinetic ability. She isn't helpless but she still has a lot to learn. She has been hunting vampires since she learned the truth of them. Rabbit is afraid she is going to get hurt or worse hurt herself.
Marley Moore - He helped her with some spells. She is deadly and hates Magic and yet Rabbit really likes her. He isn't afraid of her but he greatly respects her.
Newton Trevan Foster - Potential Rival (Yet to be determined)
Ringo America - Didn't really get to know him. They worked together on the Shadow Demon/Sleeping Beauty thing. He is somehow affiliated with the Moores and Marley/Wentworth. He has some odd personality quirks.
Rita "Grams" Evans <NPC> - Grandmother. Rabbit Lives with her. She as run Tirer La Couture for a very long time. It is the only Occult Store in Devilshire. She is a tough woman and has overcome a lot of people trying to run her and her witch store out of town. She is a powerful witch, mostly known for her Earth Magic. Portrayed by Jennifer Rhodes.
Scout Smith - If Rabbit were to ever fall for a girl, Scout is it. She is cute, she is sweet, she is smart, she is in touch with magic. And quite frankly they just click. If she was a guy, he'd probably propose and be married when they both are 18. He really likes her and quickly would consider her a good friend that he would protect. Even if he hates her brother Sebastian.
Sebastian Smith - Sebastian... Gah, He hates the gypsy boy so damn much. Sebastian hates Rabbit. The feelings are very much mutual. He doesn't trust Sebastian. Something is off about him. He doesn't know what just yet but he is always watching his back because of him. When Rabbit used magic on him, he turned into something feral.
Tristan Harget - So many things about Tristan are a turn on for Rabbit. He's got a smoking body. He's not too tall for Rabbit. He is feisty and he is dominant. The two have flirted. Rabbit really wants him. Especially because of his temper and cockiness. Tristan and Rabbit's relationship changed. Tristan treats Rabbit like a younger brother, and Rabbit wants to date him. There is love between the two but they are very different ideas of love. He hates when Tristan messes with his hair because it is to treat him like a child and yet he loves the contact and attention. He's really conflicted.
Wentworth Moore - Rabbit did a spell for Marley so she could save Wentworth from some big nasty. Wentworth likes to threaten and be mean to Rabbit but it doesn't phase the witch.
Yvonne Monroe - Momma V... She is the protective mother figure that Rabbit needs but doesn't want. He does love her cooking. Despite the fact that Yvonne hates his magic. They work well together when push comes to shove.

Claire Evans - (Portrayed by Ashley Judd, from Bug.) Rabbits Mother, she is currently in England and is damaged from her magic addiction. She probably will never be the same. Rabbit hasn't seen her in a couple of years. He really misses her.
Donovan Neros - Rabbit's brother? He doesn't know he is his brother. The guy was only in his life for just a little time and only as a stranger. He didn't know his mother had another child a long time before Rabbit was born.
Duke - Hot, Big, Strong Man who flirts with Rabbit? He's way too good to be true. Rabbit doesn't trust him and yet he is really enjoying all the attention the man is giving him. Not a major loss. Never really got to know Duke and he's glad he didn't sleep with him.
Elijah Swann - The First Crush. Hasn't seen in a long time. Probably for the best because Rabbit knows he would bash his skull in if he knew he had a crush on him. Who knows WTF happened to Elijah.
Gage Lad <NPC run by Newton after he comes back.> - (Portrayed by Matthew McConaughey) His spirit came back and messed with his brother Garth's head. He convinced him to try and kill Rabbit so he could take over his body. During the whole fight, Gage's spirit took over Garth's body turning him into an Undead Lich. Rabbit killed him a second time with Phoenix Strike.
Garth Lad <NPC run by Newton> - (Portrayed by Lachlan Buchanan) Another Hottie who was flirting with Rabbit? He's also into magic. Blonde with piercing blue eyes and he likes Rabbit? Too good to be true? he trusted him unlike how he doesn't trust Duke. Garth and him got close really fast. Rabbit had started getting serious about him in more then a quick lay kind of a way. Garth was being influenced by the spirit of his brother Gage. Gage tried to get Garth to perform a ritual so Gage could take over Rabbits body. There was an epic battle. Rabbit didn't want to hurt Garth but he had to stop the ritual. He had hit him with his TK and knocked him down. And unfortionately Gage bonded to the injured Garth and was brought back. Rabbit snapped went black eyed and burnt him to a crisp with an extremely powerful Phoenix Strike. Rabbit grabbed most of Garth's Occult Library before the house burnt down. In Memory of Garth who he probably would have fallen in love with and as Poetic Justice. As it was Gage's Occult Library that made Rabbit stronger after he killed him and now he will do it again the second time.
James Campbell - Besides finding him attractive. Rabbit actually considers James a friend. James knows all about the things that go bump in the night. Rabbit has saved his life a couple of times yet he doesn't consider James helpless. Just a victim of circumstance as he wasn't blessed by some supreme being to give him super powers. He can hold his own against the supernatural for a normal human which Rabbit really respects. James seems to attract psychics to him of various types, which he in turn asks Rabbit for help on.
Jonathan Kane - Cool Guy, He seems to know a lot of languages. It was a shock when Rabbit met him and Shelby in the park and the two blind people were not friends. It is kind of odd meeting one blind person but two in one night was odd. Not really big on Devilshires 'odd' scale but still odd. Anyway, Jonathan knows all about the things that go bump in the night too. I would like to pick his brain a bit. See what he knows and if I can use any of his knowledge to increase my own knowledge of the occult world.
Josh Saint-John - Josh went to become a professional skater. They are still in touch. Rabbit loves him a great deal. They have an interesting relationship. He really misses him. It has been stated that they are no longer dating and Josh has been working international Skateboarding circuit professionally.
Lucy Swann - BFF. She went to the Autistic Institute? I think they are just hiding her away for being special.
Maxwell Raine - He's average looking but strong and he's a pyrokinetic. Rabbit is drawn to firestarters. Probably because they are both in touch with the fire elemental. He doesn't care that Max is straight. Wouldn't have been the first straight guy he messed around with. Rabbit does want to train him though.
Micah Bradford - 'Adopted' Little Brother. Rabbit lost touch with Micah.
Osiris Reynolds - Rabbit caught him trying to sneak around the Park. He thought he was a vampire till he dropped a stake. Turns out he's a sorta demon hunter. He's into the occult and a generally nice guy. He disappeared before they got to be good friend. Hopefully he wasn't destroyed for his control over vampires.
Shelby Stone - They met in the park. He showed her how to get back to the University and the two got close during the walk. She is a firebug and Rabbit is a fire aspect. The two of them are kindred spirits. She is the only person who knows that he killed Gage and Garth. He looks to her sort of as a mother figure too. Even if she's only a few years older then him. He is slightly wierded out by her sense of humor when it comes to her disability.
Tate Brooks - New to the town. He is really hot. He is more then he seems too. He's got a bit of magic in him. Rabbit is attracted to him. He's interested in learning more about him too. Maybe even corrupting him just a little bit.
Truancy Tolliver - Rabbit likes her, she's smart and into magic like him.
Recent And Not So Recent Events
Rabbit starts obsessing over the Occult to compensate for the losses in his life. He has taken up training Leona. He opens up to Shelby and closes up to the rest of the world. He starts working in overdrive in various areas to develop spells, do monster research and running Tirer La Couture. He is also looking to train others in the Occult. All to stay distracted.
Rabbit is forced to kill Garth when Gage takes over and transforms the teen into a Lich.
Rabbit falls for Garth to compensate for both his absent boyfriends.
Josh leaves Devilshire to become a professional skater and Rabbit really misses him.
Rabbit and Ciaran have been dating for over a year.
Micah kind of fades out of Rabbit's life.
Rabbit and Josh express they feel about each other.
Rabbit's life becomes complicated with the two boys.
Enter Josh, who Rabbit flirts with. Ciaran allows Rabbit to have an open relationship.
Rabbit and Ciaran have finally expressed that they do love each other.
Rabbit killed his first vampires in the first episode and realized that he is pretty good at killing vampires.
Rabbit met Ciaran in the woods the first day he was in town and they hit it off instantly.
Trivia
Zac Efron and William Moseley were the only two choices for the character Rabbit. The chemistry between Zac and Jesse was enough to win Zac the role.
The writers of the show added the singing aspect after Zac Efron was cast.
