History
Something to be proud of
Leona Rushton grew up in a small town called Declo. This little town is situated in the southern flats of the state of Idaho. Barely a dot on the map this town has records to be proud of. Leona was certainly proud, even though she never contributed to the winning of state by the wrestling team or football. She was just as proud to have gone with the Volleyball team to a state win they had.
Being a country girl
Being the daughter of a small rancher, Leona knew how to work hard. She grew up mending fences and bucking hay with her father. She had been told she didn't have to once her brother, Lawrence, was old enough to do more than drive the old Chevy they used for picking up the hay. Being the kind of kindhearted, stubborn girl she was she insisted that she could cut it. And she did. Her love of the outdoors was never diminished because of the work that being there meant. She often heckled her "baby" brother when she could outwork him. Lawrence always took the joking well and joked back. The two of them grew close despite the four years difference in their age. They often turned things like fence work and chores into competitions to see who could go the fastest or do the most.
Getting raised in the country meant that she was no stranger to guns, having learned to shoot a rifle at twelve and a pistol at fifteen. She knew how to hunt and how to tell the kind of animal that left different tracks. She often went hunting with her father, and when Lawrence was old enough he was allowed to come along as well. Venison being her favorite meat it was her goal to always get the buck before her father could. She only succeeded in this goal once, though she was happy every time she left and happier still when they got back. She always had stories to tell about the different animals they had seen, or the tracks they had followed, just to see where they would lead.
The accident
All through high school she played volleyball, her grades were more than enough to allow it. Her junior year in high school Leona stayed out at one of the frequent parties her friends had. One of the older looking guys showed up, he brought with him party favors and with alcohol. Even knowing that she shouldn't have been drinking at her age, she was almost seventeen at the time, peer pressure won out and she drank enough to make her more than a little tipsy. Had the night ended there all that would have been told later was of the monstrous hangover she would have had, especially after drinking for the first time. It unfortunately, didn't. After spending the majority of the night drinking and having fun with her friends she told them that she had to be home so she could take care of her responsibilities. She weaved on the road as she drove her best friend Jennifer home. The two of them laughed and had another bottle each as they were on their way. After dropping Jennifer off Leona drove toward home as best she could. She knew in the back of her head that she shouldn't be driving in her condition and that she shouldn't have been drinking in the first place. Stubborn pride and the fear of disappointing her father kept her from calling him to come get her. She was within a mile of her house, she could see it and she felt the elation of her triumph. She knew in her head that if she did her chores and then lay down, claiming to be sick no one would be the wiser. As she started to make the turn into the long driveway that led up to the modest home of her father an eighteen wheeler came over the hill. The distance was less than fifty yards, even though he slammed on his brakes and blared the horn he knew he had no chance of stopping. From his perspective he never saw Leona look up as she made that left hand turn. The car flipped from the impact, it landed hard on the roof and before rolling twice and stopping about fifty feet from where it started. Leona wasn't wearing her seatbelt and as soon as the semi's driver managed to get around to the far side of the car he saw that she had been thrown from it. Her left shoulder and arm were under the now crushed roof of the car.
You can forget about sports
She couldn't remember what had happened when she woke up, two weeks later in the hospital. Her father, the one she had worried would be so angry or disappointed with her sat on her right side. He had fallen asleep in the chair, his head on the edge of her bed. She started to whimper a little, firmly forcing her tears back as she made a small croaking sound, "Dad?” His head came up quickly and he cried as he hugged her. Her body had been badly broken in the wreck and she gasped at the sudden pain, he quickly let go retreating back. His eyes glistened with tears of apparent joy but still sadness. Leona looked back down from her father's eyes to her own body. Her broken right arm was in a cast, kept elevated from the rest of her body by a sling over her bed. Her chest had a cast on it, she had broken five ribs, three on the left two on the right. She had a cast on her right leg starting at her shin and going to her toes, her ankle had been broken. Her left leg was badly bruised and scraped, but looked otherwise unharmed. She took all this in trying not to cry at the pain she felt all over her body. The last place to look was at her left arm. Expecting a cast going up her entire arm from the way she was positioned, she was shocked. Shocked and dismayed at how bad it was she could not hold her tears back. She cried heavily at first, unable to do more than simply blubber and stare at where her arm should have been. Her shoulder was wrapped in heavy bandages. She had no arm left, not even a stub. Her father spoke in a low voice, "Your arm was crushed, along with part of your shoulder. If they didn't remove it, you would have died. They couldn't stop the bleeding."
The road to recovery and then a little
After a couple weeks of laying there and not being able to do more than visit with her brother and do her school work, with which she had insisted she keep up, she was released. She was told to stay at home, in bed. Her little brother went to every one of her classes, getting the work for her every day. Then after he did the chores he had at the ranch he would sit in her room, at her side, and read to her everything she was supposed to do. He sat and helped her with everything. He read the chapters of books to her and asked her the questions, writing the answers she gave. The time she spent at home with him helping her through her last few weeks of her junior year brought the two of them closer than ever. A couple weeks into summer and she was back outside, her ribs now healed enough for her to be out doing things. Her little brother didn't do much with his friends, preferring to stay at home and do things around the ranch, and also make sure he was there for his sister. They had fun, Leona limping around after him because of the cast and boot that was on it. She always tried to help, even though she couldn't do much, her one arm being in a cast made it hard. About mid summer while their father was at work they decided to surprise him. Leona would drive the old beaten Chevy and Lawrence would load hay from the field. It wasn't that big of a help, but they both knew that their father would be glad he did not have to pick up at least that load when he got home that night.
The hay in the pasture was always baled in five foot, ninety pound bales. They got the trailer hitched up and Lawrence drove them out to the field, lining the truck up so that the hay elevator on the side of the trailer could easily pick up the bales. After about two hours of working the bales were stacked ten high and they only had another six bales to throw on top. The two were feeling giddy and proud, having nearly completed their task. Whether the bales had not been stacked correctly, or they just hadn't been stacked tightly enough neither knew afterward but when Leona turned the truck around and the right tire of the trailer went into the small ditch it was more than enough to topple the stack. Lawrence, who had been on the top of it, fell first and disappeared under the falling hay. Horrorstruck Leona hit the brakes without the clutch, instantly killing the engine in the Chevy and she hurried to the mountain of hay as fast as her leg would allow. When she got there she started using her hand and pulling on the strings of the bales trying to move them from on top of her brother's body. Quickly winded from not being used to the work she was distressed. The weight of the hay on top of him, if it had fallen right, might not have killed him but the settling would for sure. She felt her strength return as her desperation increased. Despite the fact her arm was supposed to still be in a sling she was pulling and yanking on the bales with abandon, and somehow, though she was not quite sure how, they felt lighter to her. She started moving them faster, her one hand now jerking them several feet as she nearly threw them behind her with each yank. When she finally uncovered Lawrence's face it was he was visibly suffocating. The weight on his chest from the now mostly settled hay, the mix of broken bales and bales themselves, was more than enough that he could not breathe in. She pulled a coupe of bales and some loose hay from on top of him before realizing by the time she got down to him it would be too late. She reached down by his chest pulled upward. She focused all her will on believing that the hay was light enough and she was strong enough that she could move it, and move it she did. Crying from the mix of fear for her little brother and the strain on her body she screamed and pulled upward moving the hay from his chest enough that he could scramble out. The second he was out she let go, she couldn't hold it any longer. She passed into deep, dark oblivion.
The gift, and it's curse
As he was not seriously hurt, Lawrence managed to convince their parents that had had fallen and the hay had banged him up but there had been no serious threat to his life. When Leona woke up Lawrence was right there watching her with a smile. She was lying in her own bed and she felt impossibly drained, more so than she had ever felt in her life. Both of them realized that considering her condition there was no way she should have been able to lift the weight from him and they discussed it. From the amount of weight there had been even their father couldn't have lifted it. She supposed that because she was desperate she managed to lift it with the adrenaline going through her body. Lawrence, though not denying this possibility, wasn't so sure. He pressed her for details on what she was thinking as she tried to save him. After telling what she had thought about being able to move the bales, a kind of mind over matter affair he had some ideas. He got small things first, a couple pencils and a small folder. Then some slightly larger things, one of Leona's old school books and one of the stuffed animals he had one at the county fair. He told her to think everything she did before, only this time to concentrate on the pencils. She laughed and joked that there was no way she was psychic or telepathic or whatever else he was thinking. He pushed the issue, telling her to try over and over. He said it was stressful things that bring out the powers in mutants in his X-men comics, so why not her. She laughed saying that the comics were fictional, that all that stuff was fictional and there was no way somebody could move things with their mind. He still pressed the issue, telling her to try over and over. Finally getting mad at him she said she would try, just so she could prove that she didn't have powers. She glared at him then at the pencil trying to push it with all her might. Nothing happened. She turned her head, a satisfied smirk on her face, toward her little brother who was clearly disappointed. Accusing her of not doing it right, as thirteen year old boys are prone to do, he insisted that she say out loud everything she thought when she was trying to move the hay and try once again. Sighing and muttering aloud about pesky little brothers she stared at the pencil. After a few seconds of staring at it she started whispering the same things she had thought when she was trying to move the hay. Just as she started to roll her eyes and give up it moved. It was only a small twitch but it was noticeable. Lawrence gasped and she concentrated harder. Sweat broke out on her forehead as suddenly the pencil rose upward, after a few inches it toppled back to the bed. Leona panted from the strain but her eyes were alight as she looked at her brother.
The next day was spent in her room with Lawrence. They only left to go do their chores, or, rather, for Lawrence to do his chores, and Leona to go with him, helping in the small ways she could. Leona practiced and practiced. By the time dinner was thought of it was late in the night, nearly midnight. Pushing and pushing her limits Leona had managed to not only raise the pencil but cause it to twirl in mid air. She was able to hold it longer and more easily now. After they both ate they lay down to sleep for the night. Leona's sleep was troubled that night, horrible nightmares plagued her. When she woke the next day, even though she had slept until almost noon she felt as though she hadn't slept at all. Despite her troubled sleeping it had appeared to her brother that she had slept soundly, which is why he had not woken her. After telling him she had not slept soundly he suggested that they did not try to do anything for the day and see if it left. Leona declined and they spent another grueling day working on improving her skills. Despite how fatigued she was from working as hard as she had and her restless sleep she still managed to improve, ending with being able to hold two pencils and twirl them both about in different directions. Again that night, the nightmares plagued her. When she was shaken awake by Lawrence she was covered in a cold sweat. She could not remember the nightmare, but she could still feel the feeling of being trapped and the horror that it inspired. He told her that he had woken her up because she had started to cry. She told him that the nightmares had returned. That she couldn't remember any details but they felt worse than they had the previous night. They both agreed that to practice her new ability seemed to cause the nightmares and to take a day off from doing so. They went outside and did the chores together and spent the day doing things that kept them outside. It showed in Leona's eyes just how tired she was. That night they went to bed early, intending to get up early to try practicing again. She had the same nightmare only this time when she woke she remembered some of it. The snakes, and the horror that they brought her had her nearly paralyzed with fear when she finally awoke. She felt upon waking that she had been trapped in the dream for days when in reality she had only slept a little more than an hour. After finally calming down she shakily stood and, feeling slightly ashamed, she drug her blanket her pillow and her favorite teddy into her little brother's bedroom. She slept on the floor next to his bed, achieving the first calming sleep she had gotten in three days.
Practice, practice, practice...
When she finally woke up she was happy to find herself rested as she had been expecting to be tortured again by the nightmare. Over the next month Leona, along with her brother's help, continued her practice. She got stronger and stronger, by the end of the month her abilities were such that she could keep her book and more aloft at once. She was also able to do more complicated maneuvers with the objects she "lifted" with her mind. Her nightmares returned every few nights and when they did if she was fortunate enough to wake from them before morning she would move into her brother's room for that night. The nightmares were always the same. Though she could only ever remember the snakes the horror seemed to increase for a long time. She and Lawrence bought more than a few books about cults and the supernatural trying to discover what it was that had happened to her that she would be plagued by the recurring nightmares but it was to no avail. Many of the books centered on rituals and curses, not to mention many strange creatures, monsters and people of the fey among other things. She studied some of the spells, even reciting some, but it was clear that she had no magical talent past her strange telekinesis abilities.
School... and more
Though she wanted to continue doing nothing more than developing her new gift she had to return to school at the start of the new school year. Upon her return it was obvious that she would be unable to do what she had done before, playing volleyball. She did, however, keep her grades high and tried to make sure she never had homework so she could practice her abilities. About a month into the new school year there was a flyer posted about a new martial arts dojo opening up in the nearby town of Burley. The flyer mentioned that there were free "come and watch" times. Being interested in learning martial arts she decided to take a break from her practice to go and watch. After sitting down and watching for about half an hour the instructor came over to address the small group of people watching. He made all the general discussion about how martial arts will help the mind focus and become better attuned to many things. Also about how just about anybody could do it after some practice. Feeling intrigued Leona stood and asked if the instructor thought that someone like herself could learn karate or kung fu. He smiles and motioned for her to come forward. After she was standing in the front of the group of people who had come to watch he looked right at them and said "This girl would have a very hard time doing what she has asked, kung fu or karate requires much balance. Without her other arm, that balance will be much harder to achieve." He then turned and smiled at her. "Judo, however, is something that she would be able to do without too much hindrance." He faced the other listeners, keeping her at his side with a gentle hold on her shoulder. "Judo is about placing the body such that you use an opponent's momentum, body weight, and size against them. The main part of balancing in judo is about being able to correctly place yourself, and know how to move so that you can exploit those characteristics." After saying this he let her shoulder go and stepped back, bowing once before resuming the teaching of his students.
Staying after the session was over Leona approached the instructor. She inquired about the time and the effort it would require to learn judo, and whether it would help the same as karate or kung fu in making her mind more focused. He smiled and told her that his name was Sam, and that judo was the best of the three mentioned for calming the mind and improving focus. He told her to come in after school the next day. When she arrived she saw Sam sitting in the middle of the floor, meditating. She moved in quietly and sat in a chair near him. After a scant minute or so he opened his eyes and smiles at her, welcoming her to the dojo. He stood up and motioned her forward. She arose from the chair and walked over to him. "I will show you some of the things we will be doing, should you choose to continue with this. I want to know your dedication before we start." He explained how to meditate, and told her to sit cross-legged and do so while he went in the back and sorted out a couple things. After she had followed his instructions, Sam went into the back and found a training gi and a white belt to go with it. Walking back out, he stood in front of her, watching. After a moment he dropped the gi into her lap and smiled when her eyes opened. "Go put that on and we will start with some of the basics." After returning from the back, now wearing the gi, Leona smiled and waited. Sam started with the small things, teaching the stance and how to parry strikes that were made. After teaching her slowly he sped up some, making it so her right hand moved faster to block the incoming jabs. After about an hour students started arriving from his regular class and as they came in they each changed into their own gi and either sat to meditate, or sat and watched Sam instruct this new one armed girl. After another ten minutes he stepped back from Leona and bowed low, she did the same in return. Sam then excused her, telling her to return the next day if she wanted to continue. She smiled and said she would see him then.
Learning new things takes time
She had been unable to play sports, but her judo lessons with Sam and practicing her telekinesis abilities with Lawrence took up any time that was not used on homework. While her judo progressed past simple blocks and grabs to various throws and holds that were modified for her stature and handicap. So to, did her skills with her telekinesis progress. She moved from doing small things such as twirling pencils and books to nudging or moving heavier objects. She helped Lawrence with his work on the ranch, using her gift like a strong second arm and hand. She could split her concentration, holding something in place and reaching out to grab another tool they needed, all the while helping with something else with her hand. The judo lessons helped her to focus while keeping her relaxed and calm. The meditation helped her to calm down after her periodic nightmares as well. The days after a night of next to no rest from a nightmare she would seem very tired and somewhat inattentive, but her dedication and her stubbornness at times, kept her going. She could work with her one arm and use her mind to help lift, or pull objects, making it seem she was stronger than she really was.
Getting a new perspective
The school year proceeded quickly with everything Leona had taken to doing. As her senior year neared its end she started investigating colleges. She saw many that she could choose from. She investigated deeper than just into the school, and the credentials it had. She learned about the areas, and the histories of the towns and cities nearby, wanting to be able to find work so she could pay for her schooling. After some thorough research she had narrowed it down to a handful. She couldn't decide on which to really go to. That was when Lawrence made a keen observation. He noted that there were two on the list that had many legends surrounding the areas, most of which were of supernatural or magical origin. Noting both Sunnydale and Devilshire she looked further into them. After delving into the various legends from both areas she discovered that Sunnydale had disappeared, like the entire town had been destroyed by a bomb or something. There were no real details in the few documents of the incident. Leona supposed that the site about Sunnydale University had been paid for far in advance and had just not been removed yet. Focusing on Devilshire Leona applied for scholarships and financial aid in order to attend Devilshire University. Using her good grades for leverage, along with the good report of Devilshire University, Leona was able to acquire the money she needed for tuition through grants, scholarships, and aid. Setting out for the new experiences that moving from home would give her was hard. She knew she would miss her family, and that they would miss her. The hardest thing for her was to leave Lawrence, her little brother and good luck charm. With the promise of learning more about herself and getting a college degree she flew east toward the prospect of an exciting and fulfilling future.
Not so Alive, but Well...
Recently Leona took a leave of absence from school and everyone here at Devilshire. She was called while during classes to come back home because her mother was ill and in the hospital. She left that day and didn't really even say goodbye to Dominic who she really wanted to. She hoped he would understand. Going back home would have been great if it hadn't been for those circumstances. She spent the past few months there with her family spending as much time as she could with her mother. Her bad luck seemed to have followed her though. One of the days she was there she herself had to be admitted to the hospital. Though it was only minor and the doctors released her the same day, the bleeding from her face, her ears, eyes and nose, caused people to worry. She was worried herself. She gets nosebleeds when she overexerts herself through her gifts. This time it was a major over exertion. She had been walking outside the hospital with Lawrence when they both saw a young girl run out into the street after a ball, right in front of a Buick. They both took off running to catch her up but there was no way she or her little brother, good luck charm he may have been, to get there in time. She hoped nobody would link her to this as she focused as quickly as she could. Using the desperation of the situation she was able to go even faster than normal. She stopped running and braced her feet as she held her hand out in front of herself like she was going to catch something being thrown at her. She split her concentration at the last moment to protect the driver as well. The car would have fared better hitting a concrete wall, it wrapped itself around midair like there had been a telephone pole there to stop it. Lawrence was able to get to the girl and grab her out of the road moments later. he wasn't sure at first what happened but realized a moment later when he saw Leona about ten feet back from where she had been. Blood flowing easily from her, both from the scraps she took from being flung across the ground and from the exertion on her mind. The bleeding stopped after a time and she was allowed to be with her mother for the rest of the day, though the doctors came in to check on her just as much as her mother. Her mother didn't recover from the cancer that had spread over her lungs and liver. And a few months later after the funeral and some time to recoup she was able to come back to Devilshire, with promises to make up all the missed work. She still smiles like she used to, and tries not to show the hurt losing her mother caused, but it will probably be a while before she is able to let go of the pain entirely.
Personality
Leona is very nice and usually doesn't take a bad stance to anyone she hasn't had the time to get to know. Unfortunately for her, this place as nice and small as it is, is nothing like her hometown. She is very nieve about lots of things, and takes way too many people at face value. She has even thought that if given the chance a vampire would rather talk than kill. She was forced to put that vampire down. It was all part of her being trained to further her abilities.
Powers and Abilities

Because of Leona's determination and hard work she has progressed quickly in the field of her telekinesis arts. Unfortunatly because of how hard she pushed herself to progress her power to maturity she overworked her mind. She can perform and hold things for long periods of time, but things that require a large amount of concentration, or a huge burst of her gift taxes her extremely hard. She will get nosebleeds as the blood vessels in her head break from overexertion, there is even once that the blood came from her eyes and ears as well. She hides this fact from people, not wishing to alarm them. Maybe with help from someone else in Devilshire she will overcome this flaw, but it is hard to be certain.
Getting to Know the People
Dominic
Leona has a bit of a crush on the older man. She knows what he is and that there is some others around the town, though he won't give up any names. She has met him for coffee in the mornings a few times. He hauled her home after she got extremely drunk one night. She stood up to a guy who was getting on his case for something as well. She does wish she was a whole person for him, as she is still a bit unsure of herself without her other arm but does her best not to show it, especially when he is around.
Leona likes her rather eccentric neighbor. They met one night when Leona was up because of one of her nightmares. They happened to have a good time chatting and getting to know a little bit about eachother. She has only seen Amy around a few times despite being just a few rooms away.
Adam
What can really be said about this miscreant? He is manipulative and really very untrustworthy, not that Leona knows that. In fact, she stood up for him a few times. She believes he is just misunderstood, and bearing the brunt of a lot of people's bad day meltdowns. In general she likes him, how could she not? He has a good sense of humor and he loves talking with her. Sometimes she feels like he is hitting on her, but that's okay, he doesn't seem the type to turn all stalker on her. Even if he was Dominic would probably straighten him out.
Cassie
Definitely different. Cassie has a problem with her speech. It doesn't really bother Leona. In her eyes Cassie is someone that she could aspire to be. Her violin music is the greatest she has ever heard. It really puts her art to shame. She wishes she could spend more time with Cassie, but after just a few times of hanging out Leona had to go back home for a family emergency.
Cricket
Not one of Leona's normal crowd of friends. She is the kind of girl that loves to go to parties, and shop. And she has the money to do it all, through an unfortunate accident yes, but still. She managed to get Leona into a dress, something she hadn't worn except to church since like, ever. Cricket also helped her get some new clothes, evidently fashion is not wearing denim and a button up shirt. She was the first to pick up on Leona's liking of Dominic.
What word can explain Rabbit. To Leona it's awesome. This guy can call fire and even use telekinesis just like her. She can definitely relate to him. He has sort of offered to train her in her abilities, though not really official, he has taken her on a vampire hunting trip. She learned that vampires, at least not newly risen ones, couldn't really be reasoned with. She also found out from Rabbit and Ciaran that going to hunt vampires while wearing cutoff shorts and a tank top really wasn't the best of ideas, bare skin seems to make the vampires even more ferocious.
Zac
Cricket's brother. Well the one she actually spoke with more than just a few seconds. He told her the she and him were not so different. And that both his brother and sister were like him. But this was only after she got caught using her gift to save herself from walking over to pick up her duffel bag. She tried to hide it from him but he pulled a few things from her mind, not that she even knew about it. Chances are he only did it because she was about to have a nervous breakdown. She had believed until then she was one of a kind, and that she would be disliked for her special gift.
She didn't really get to know this guy, though he seemed to be Rabbit's beau at thte time. She only met him once. That time with the vampire. Rabbit had to leave in a hurry, something happened. But Ciaran stayed there and watched over her. He made sure that she didn't get killed by the vampire. Not that she really needed it at that point in time. She really didn't get much time to talk to Ciaran about himself so she doesn't really know what to make of him.
Jon
The blind German teacher. He is cool for being an older guy. She swears he can see sometimes, not that it matters. Even when she sneaks up on him from behind he always knows she is there. His hearing is insane. She has made it a point to try and get the drop on him for once. He has gotten the drop on her before, that's for sure. She was minding her own business doing her art as the sun was going down in the park and he found her. She got a fright even if he didn't really mean to scare her, just make her more aware that it wasn't safe there.
Bethany
She's into some of the strange things around town. The stuff Leona was told weren't really what they were made out to be. She could be some kind of investigator, though the clothes really didn't fit the profile. She seemed nice enough, though Leona only got a few moments to get past the traditional meet and greet.
Tom... Leona never even caught his name. He was drawing in the park late at night. She was looking for some sort of inspiration to draw on and chose him. They spoke briefly, but he left before they really talked more than three sentances.
Scout, a wanderer and a gypsy... That is so cool. She didn't think there was really things like gypsies still around. The only places she had ever really heard of them was in old books about medieval times. They met in the BoHo and Leona thinks she might have a new friend. She wants to know more about this young woman.
Coral
What can be said about this teenager can probably be said about many different ones. She doesn't seem that special upon first glance, just a normal angsty teen. But when you watch her a bit, like Leona did, you see something else. She still isn't sure why she likes the girl as much as she does. Maybe the way she has of making introductions... I mean, just walking up to someone and saying that you would really like to play with them is kinda wierd, moreso when they are serious and don't mean something like frisbee. She also made Leona blush worse than she had in months, just in a matter of minutes around her.
Recent Developments
It had certainly been a good while since she and Amy had a chance to hang out. What a day at the mall. She shopped with her friend and instead of them both trying to buy everything they made some really good purchases. It was definitely better than the homework and such she had been engaged in so recently. The walk home had to be the most eventful time of day though. Two beach going guys showed up. They had to be coastal surfers, just by how they were dressed and acted. They laughed and started to walk together, the four of them before they turned and attacked. Two vampires in disguise... Leona wasn't ready for something like that, as the scar on her neck now shows. The vampire that did it though, he is now part of the earth again. He hadn't been expecting the circular saw to the neck, thanks to Amy helping and Leona's Tk.
Hospital visits really suck. They suck even worse when you are the patient. But to make it the greatest visit ever... throw in that you are hurt pretty badly, because you abused your Telekinesis to kill some vampires, and yes it was a vampre that had tried to eat her, that was how she had the two puncture wounds on her neck. Staying in the hospital had to be the most down part of coming back to Devilshire. At least Amy seemed to have not noticed that she had used TK. But that had to be the only bright side... Or not. Adam to the rescue! Masquerading as a doctor he comes in and brightens the scene cheering her up and, thankfully, helping her escape the horible place.
After being gone so long it was nice to run into her crush. Dominic seemed to be in a bit of a funk. But what's new? After seeing him and they had a bit of a laugh about her skipping class they did some snuggling and he invited her to come stay with him to get out of the dormatories once in a while. She tends to stay there more often than not now. Oh and they had a great talk and agreed that they should stop batting round the subject... they are girl and Beau now.
A second meeting with Coral in the park. It was pretty chilly out but she was more than willing to watch the younger woman practice with her flaming poi. After just a minute of watching she sat under a tree and went to work on another of her sketches. This time one of Coral herself, not to mention all the scenery around her as well. Despite the cold and the fact she couldn't feel her fingers by the time she was done, it wasn't too shabby. While that of itself is nothing to write home about, Coral expressed again just how much she liked Leona. Thinking it was all talk and nothing more Leona decided to call it a bluff, she was very surprised to be kissed by the girl. I guess saying the words 'Prove It' might have not been the best choice there.
