Background

Keith was born in Ireland and was raised by both his mother and father. His parents were quite active in the mystical community before Keith was born and only barely left when he was born. This decision was made by both his parents that the world of magic was too dangerous to be involved in especially with a child whom might not have 'the gift' like themselves. Though they later returned to the area of magic and the occult when they discovered Keith had a natural talent or 'the gift' that needed to be harnessed in the midst of his childhood.

Keith first displayed an ability for magic when he accidentally lost control while reading out of a book he found in the attic when he was ten and setting fire to not only a candle, but the desk where it sat. His mother was shocked at first with her son showing such an amplitude for magic, but then realized he had extreme powerful potential and decided to venture into owning a magic shop with Keith's father that year while also beginning instruction with Keith on how to control his gift.

Keith grew up from the age of ten until the age of nineteen living above his families magic shop. Each day after school he was expected to either come back to do homework and study in the shop or when he got old enough, to work as a cashier and stock boy for the family shop. When it was off hours at the shop Keith was formally instructed by both his parents in the arts of Witchcraft and general magic. From this training Keith has a high aptitude for most things magical. He's made it one of his sole missions in life to incorporate his Occult knowledge into his modern day life. Since his extensive training in the shop, Keith has developed quite a high skill and might be known for being a local Occult Scholar by any members of the magical community. He also has been rumored to be quite telepathic and has the ability to use this gift in odd ways.

Keith's history up until he came to Devilshire is quite mixed and expansive. When he was eleven his parents began training him out of their personal Book of Shadows. He studied about demons, warlocks, and other evil entities. When he was nearing the age of twelve Keith had encountered a local ghost in town at one of the well known haunted houses. His magic studies had prepared him for banishing a ghost, but when he entered the house to banish the ghost he found that his powers weren't as stable as his parents. He seemed to have possessed a crippling disadvantage finding his powers uncontrollable when under extreme stress. In effect, Keith barely banished the ghost after nearly killing himself in the process. Ever since this moment, Keith has attempted to keep himself away from extreme stress while practicing magic, seeming to prefer assistance magic to the all out offensive magic his parents practiced. Though his life would not be so simple since his parents are avid demon hunters. He was always in danger of attacking monsters and entities. This required Keith to be very keen in the art of demon identification as well finding ways to momentarily cope with his uncontrollable powers to vanquish his incessant attackers. Though this is quite hard and battling evil as a side-job really takes a toll on Keith. His uncontrollable power usually gets in the way at the oddest times when fighting enemies.

While Keith developed his Witchcraft skills, at the age of thirteen he was given the power of telepathy on his birthday. One day he was just your normal practicing Wicca and the next he was a telepathic witch with no idea how to control hearing thoughts. His parents took the whole day to realize exactly what Keith was doing when he guessed what they were getting him for his birthday and responding oddly to each thought they were having. Being that his parents didn't directly have the gift of telepathy they assisted Keith by buying many books from their local suppliers about the ability. After three years of hard practice Keith finally suppressed the ability to only activate on command or when his uncontrollable power surged under stress. Since this ability clearly is connected to Keith innate ability he seems to have a natural ability in the social sciences and uses it to help people with their problems. Occasionally this need for helping people gets Keith in trouble when using his telepathic ability since he can be seen answer the occasionally thought or mental notes of others without realizing it.

Keith moved into town after attending two years of college in Dublin studying only history. He now is attending one of the local colleges finishing a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minors in Psychology and Chemistry. He usually chooses to do most his research on the inner workings of most religious cults and aspects of ancient cultures. Citing that most cultures had some group of people whom were gifted with certain odd gifts throughout history. He has a fairly extensive library of magic books that he bought from his parents shop. He keeps these sensitive material around his bedroom, though he also keeps all his other books assorted around his house.

Keith had a second, more driving reason, to move to Devilshire than just attending DevU. He moved away for Ireland to get away from the rival coven to his parents, the Galway Coven. The Galway Coven has had a large vendetta against the Dublin Coven, Keith's family coven, for multiple generations. A week before Keith headed off to Devilshire the rival coven offered Keith a position in their group. When Keith declined the offer and said he'd never join Galway Coven they vowed to ensure he'd never be safe anywhere he moved. The Galway Coven has visited Devilshire a few times. Each time sending one of their lower witches to eliminate the powerful Dublin witch. Each time Keith escapes the attack by either out doing the rival witch in spellcraft or eliminating them in other less popular ways. Keith has tried to keep his rivalry out of his life in Devilshire, though it seems to always crop up at inconvenient times.

Personality

Keith has a very light-hearted style and personality

Keith is your typical, all Irish-American... well American since he has worked to gain citizenship. Alright, so he's not exactly perfect in the American sense... Who are we trying to fool, he's certainly not typical!

First off he's a cocky witch that thinks he can practice his witchcraft with no real consequence for 'just trying to save the world'! Second, he's not your typical all American man, being that he's clearly got a crush on the town heartthrob whom just happens to all be a dude. Third, well everyone sees this one as setting him apart from the others. He's always studying! Whether that be with a very old tome that he 'incidentally' has in his library or the recent reports in the Sociology or Psychology field. He also has been known to be mixing up a few weird concoctions... what you thought herbology and potions wasn't real witchcraft?! Oh, and how does he cover all this weird happenings around him? "Oh didn't I tell you a little while ago, yeah I'm Wiccan." Like all Wicca practitioners can do what he can...

Overall Keith is a bit of an oddball when it comes to some social interactions, though clearly he's got his heart in the right place. He's also pretty smart when it comes to Social Science and the occult at large. Though might this also be explained by his Telepathy that he doesn't even like using himself?! I mean come on guys, does your minds always have to feel that disgusting when he goes in there?!

Powers and Abilities

Occult Scholar - Keith has this very inherent drive to learn everything about the occult community. The mere idea that he can learn more is always a driving force in his life. Whether it be learning about the latest demon attacking the town, the recent haunting in a nearby community, or just the latest magical related topic he is there in a heartbeat and buried to the nose in a occult tome!

Occult Library - Keith is a very fortunate young man when it comes to his occult library. He has collected various tomes and books from various places around the world, thus accumulating a collection so large that most would be foolish to not call him a well prepared Occult Scholar!

Resources - Keith might not be rich beyond belief, though he does live comfortably on his modest income. He tries to budget enough to keep his moderate income to be split between needed essentials and his frequent shopping sprees to the local magic shop.

Telepathy - Keith has the ability for telepathy like a lot of people have an ability to control their own thought patterns. Sometimes he can control and will it to be, though he still has those rare occasions when "Opps! I guess I needed some psychic insight into their minds!" He still doesn't completely get how to control this ability all the time, though what he does know is it can come in handy when needed.

Witchcraft - Keith is a practicing witch, honing his craft as best he can. He's been practicing from such a young age, that without his magic he might be lost in the cruel world he lives in forever! He might not the be the strongest witch around the block, but what he lacks in inherent ability he makes up in his studies of the occult.

Uncontrollable Power - His training wasn't exactly paced in such a way as to keep him from overloading himself with power and knowledge. So for an side-effect he has bursts of moments when stressed where his natural magical ability fires off. Normally this manifests in his natural telekinetic ability with him being a witch. Though there have been very random times where actual spells have been enacted without his knowledge.

Early in life Keith had major headaches from uncontrolled telepathy.
