Help:Adding a Character Page

The Production Staff at Devilshire MUX encourages its players to freely create character pages for APPROVED CHARACTERS ONLY. All PCs use the same format.

New Wiki Pages
As a reminder, all Wiki Pages aside from your character's individual Wiki Page *must* be approved by staff (Theme Staff plus Plot Staff) prior to creation. This is to ensure themeliness.
1) Staff will usually create a wiki page for your character immediately after its approval. This page will provide a bare bones setup for you to add to. Please wait for staff to create your page. The naming format is your character's first and last name.
2) NPCs: All NPCs go only on your character's individual wiki page. Please remember that not all NPCs need to be cast; please restrict to major NPC characters and make sure the actors haven't already been taken. Being sparing on casting actors means future players have more options for PCs.
3) Businesses: If your character owns a business, please page wiki staff to ask if you can create a business page. The answer is probably yes, but please check first. Please refer to existing business pages.
4) Teams: Once your team is approved, feel free to create a page for it. Please refer to existing team pages for guidelines.
Image Guidelines
- All main cast images must not be greater than 250 pixels for width or 300 pixels for height. This is to promote a cohesive image gallery amongst all character pages.
- All other images should be at maximum 300x250 pixels, horizontal or vertical. Pic Resize and ResizR are two free online web applications you can use; you also might want to consider using a Google search for a program. If you still require assistance in cropping an image, contact Vorpal via page, @mail or +request in-game.
- Images accent text; try not to go overboard.
- No, seriously. Character pages can have a maximum of to 20 pictures. Images linked from the casting page do not count toward this limit.

Feel free to augment them how you like, or just copy and paste the information below in to your Edit box and fill in all the necessary information. If a field does not have any information, still include the field but use a - for the blank.

First: First Appearance. Utilize the html wiki code to link to the appropriate log on the forums.

Wiki Etiquette
As a player, you are in control of your own wiki page. You are not in control of anyone else's; please do not make changes to other people's pages without their permission. If you are part of a team or the owner of a business, you can also edit those pages.
Log Template
Plenty of users add a Log Subcategory to the Character Wiki Page. Feel free to utilize a table format located at Log Table Template. For alignment purposes, change center to left or right.
Image Notations
Uploading duplicate images results in the older image being deleted in a few days. If you'd like something deleted, please feel free to make a note of it in the page summary update box. If staff accidentally deletes the wrong version of an image file, please @mail or +request wiki staff immediately and it will be restored.
Secondly, to upload a revision of an image, go to the image's page. Should be: www.devilshire.org/Image:<filename>.jpg (or .png or .gif). Scroll down to Upload a new version of this file and upload as normal.
