Act One
The Devlins
"He has been waiting. Biding his time. He believes he is now strong enough. I do not know why. That, dear children, is for you to discover. To discover why he attacks now and how to make sure he ends now. It will only be a matter of time before he comes for us in force."

The Hargets
He whistles. A loud, piercing shriek of a whistle that actually shatters glass. Every display case within twenty-five feet explodes. They aren't the only things. The doors to the store blow inward, flying ten feet and then smashing into the ground. They're dogs. Three of the biggest, blackest beasts you have ever seen. The river, after all, is named for them. So are the University sport teams.

Act Three
The Swanns
So wrapped up is everyone in singing the Old Man his happy birthday, that only a choice few manage to notice the hand that wraps around the edge of the fence separating the yard from the house next door. And, also, the accompanying body that follows. From the other side of the yard, another hand; and another body. And then another two, each of the first followed by one. They leap over the fence with incredible ease, brandishing guns.

Act Seven
Para Bellum
It's not a very large clearing, but the six figures are still there; their clothing ragged and shred in parts. Two girls, four boys, all of more-or-less college age and sporting the marks of being mauled by something, dry blood becoming wet thanks to the rain. The girls glance to the sky, while the boys to the water... The six should-be-dead-from-the-looks-of-them tilt their heads back... and howl.
